Here it is, the mail post, as promised!

Sweet first letter from Iwona in Poland

First letter from Mikaela in Finland. She has some of the neatest handwriting I've ever seen!

A deeeelightful first letter from Miss Bianca! I have a confession - I've been a secret fan of hers for months, and I finally wrote her a letter! How happy was I to see this lovely lovely work of art in my mailbox!

Outgoing:

Long overdue reply to Belen. I hope she likes it!

Apparently I forgot to take any pictures of the rest of my outgoing... I thought I had but oh well.

Here also are the pictures of my handmade pencil case:

I am now attempting to modify a cheap dollar-store clipboard to have a front flap with a pocket in it. I'll let you know how that turns out.

I've gotten over it over and over again.

Hello friends. I am indeed alive! Crazy crazy days, I tell you.

Last weekend I went to 3 weddings in 2 days! They were all lovely friends, and lovely weddings.

Worked nights last week. 5 pm until 3 am. Joy. Not.

Have been trying to catch up on letters, and managed to write a few! Made myself a new work station (ish) in view of our tv so I can watch movies at the same time and not hurt my neck, as previously done in my bedroom watching them on my laptop. Will do a mail post tomorrow, hopefully!

Been reading Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke this past week. I love these books, and I just want to know how it all ends!

Went shopping today with the boyfriend. It was his orientation day (his first day back of college!), and he finished around noon. I was done work at 2, so I picked him up and we bought some clothes and other random things. I love buying new clothes, especially when they're buy one, get one half off. Cha-ching!

I made some Passion iced tea lemonade today. That is my favorite thing at Starbucks, and I was like "duh, how easy would that be to make at home?" Very easy. And yummy.

I also made a pencil case today. I'll post a picture tomorrow with my mail cuz it's sort of majorly cute. I found the idea in this book.

I'm tired and can't think of what else I've been doing. My life is nuts. My room is a mess. I am a neat freak, so this is terrible. Itinerary tomorrow = CLEAN UP MY ROOM!! Fill out some applications I picked up for part-time jobs.

Love love love!!

A letter to my dreams.

Dear dreams,

You are often strange things when I sleep. I have to say, most of the time you worry me. But dreams when I'm awake, I enjoy you much more. I hope that I will get to accomplish you more often. I'm working on it.

See you soon,
Felicia

A letter to my parents.

Dear Mom & Dad,

I love you. You're the best parents I could have dreamed of. You have been so supportive of me my whole life, and especially now when I'm in college and not making nearly enough money to support myself. I'll pay you back someday. Thank you for always encouraging me to follow my dreams, and believing that I can do great things with my life. I'll always love you for teaching me to follow Jesus, and showing me what that looks like with your own lives. I hope that when I'm married that I'll have as good a marriage as you. Thanks for giving me my good looks and my weirdness. You guys are awesome.

With all my love,
Felicia

Young at heart (Mail 1.10)

I had a lovely lovely weekend. Saturday evening Chris and I went to church, and then I made us breakfast-for-supper (eggs Benedict, my specialty) at his house. Then we watched Star Trek with his roommate and cousins. It's been such a long time since I just had a chill Saturday evening.

Yesterday was our 6 month anniversary, and it was amazing. Chris took me out for lunch here in town, and then we went to the city. We went bowling, which was fun even though I super suck at bowling. I did get a couple strikes, which was good. At the end of our second game, Chris got a turkey (3 strikes in a row) which was absolutely incredible because he's not much better than I am! I was so proud of him :D Then we did some shopping, and then he took me to The Keg for supper.

I'd never been to The Keg before, and he kept saying he was going to take me there someday. So he decided to surprise me yesterday and take me there. Oh. My. Lanta. I had the most amazing steak of my life last night. Seriously, the first bite was bliss. Filet mignon wrapped in bacon. In my opinion bacon makes everything better. I said to Chris, "there will be steak like this in Heaven." I also tried a Mai Tai for the first time, and I liked it! I'm not much of a drinker, but when I go out sometimes I like to have a drink with my dinner, and last night seemed like a good occasion. For dessert we had the most scrumptious mocha ice cream cake. Then we sat at the table for a half hour in a near food coma. I'm still thinking about that steak, a full day later :D

Seriously, though, I love my boyfriend. We have the most fun together, blowing where the wind takes us. And we talk about everything. I never thought that I would find someone so wonderful, who understands me and actually cares deeply about me. It's nice. Unfortunately we totally forgot to take any pictures yesterday, so I can't show you how good we looked. But we did look very good :D

Mail this week was slim. I'm planning to write some letters once I post this entry. (Also, random question, but does anyone know how I can make banners that actually say "incoming/outgoing"?)

Incoming:

A postcard (and letter) from Callie

Postcrossing card.

No outgoing this week, but I did make something cool I'd like to show you.

I made a mix cd for Chris, and I had so much fun making this case for it. I thought of the idea at work (because apparently I get my best ideas at work when I can't try them out immediately). I think it turned out pretty good!

A letter to my crush

Dear Chuck,

Ever since I first saw you, I knew I would fall in love with you. Your dark hair and hazel eyes drive me crazy. I completely adore your taste in shoes. I always knew that you would end up with Sarah (even though it breaks my heart completely a little). Your determination to go after what you know is right is an inspiration to the world. I sometimes wish my computer would crash or that I was a Russian member of Fulcrum, just so that I could gaze into your eyes/get a little physical with you.

PS I will wait for you. Season four will come soon enough.

With sincere and non-creepy love,
Felicia

30 days of letters.

I saw this linked on someone else's blog (365 letters, I believe) and I thought it was a cool idea. As we know, I'm not great at following through on these, but I'll give it a go.

Letter #1

Dear Best Friend,

You have more than one name. You have more than one face. And yet how I love you. My life is forever changed because you walked through it. How I treasure the times we have laughed together, gasping for breath with tears streaming down our cheeks. You are the cheese to my macaroni. Please believe me when I say that you are a blessing from God, and I thank Him for you often. I love you. Ps - let's go cause some trouble ;)

Love always,
Felicia

Phases like the moon.

When I was 12, my parents got me a subscription to (the now defunct) Brio magazine. Every so often, they would have forms that you could fill out, send in, and get a pen pal. I sent in for maybe 5 altogether, but as you grow older you stop writing. I still keep in contact with 2 of them, and they have become dear friends.

My second pen pal was Callie. We started writing at the very end of 1999 (like as in between Christmas and New Year's), and to this day we still write letters, as well as being friend on Facebook and following each other's blogs. It's been over 10 years, and we still have not met face to face. It feels like we've grown up together. We used to write about Lip Smackers and the latest movie we watched, and now we write about life, our dreams, our men, and God.

Callie got married in 2008, and she just found out that she is expecting her first baby!! I am so excited for her and her husband!! I really wanted to go visit her this winter on my Christmas break, and that might still happen, but if that doesn't work then I'm for sure going down there once this new person makes his/her grand entry into the world!

My fourth pen pal was Suzanne. I believe we started writing when we were 14, so 7 or 8 years. We bonded over music and writing. I was the one who introduced her to our teenage obsession, Josh Groban. For a while we were pretty consumed by him :P In the summer of 2007 I went with my mom on a road trip to NY, and we met for the first time! Because we were both massive Grobanites (at the time) we decided that would be a good time to meet, because Josh Groban was having a concert in her city. That was the best trip ever. I met my friend Suzanne and we saw Josh Groban together.

Suzanne has been working on a ranch in Arizona for the past couple years, and she just got engaged 2 weeks ago to a man that she met while working there! It was very funny how similar their story and our story is - we both started dating in February, and Suzanne and I had both never had boyfriends before!

So my one friend is having a baby, my other friend is getting married, and I am in love for the first time, and entering my final year of school. We sure have grown up a lot, and I am blessed to have these women as long lasting friends.

All I do the whole night through is dream of you. (Mail 1.9)

This morning when I woke up I thought it was Sunday. Then I realized as the fog cleared that I only wanted it to be Sunday, and that it was in fact Thursday. Sunday is mine and Chris' six month anniversary. He's planned a surprise for me and I'm excited because I love surprises :D Anyway, if it was Sunday, than this post would be early.

Outgoing:

Letters to my friend Steph. Sorry about the middle picture there, it kept uploading like that, which is weird. The first was a letter I sent her, just after we went to visit her. Then a couple days ago I decided to send her a mix cd just to give her a happy mailbox.

(Again, kept uploading sideways. Sorry.)
First letter to Fanny.

I've been pretty busy with work and other things that I wanted to get done before school starts again. I applied for my student loans, which always takes me forever to get around to and I don't know why. At least this was my last time applying for them. I've been looking at my class schedule, trying to make sure that I get everything in order so that I don't suddenly end up a credit short in something that's not available winter semester. I got my field education sorted out too, which was great. The requirement is that you have to volunteer somewhere 2 hours a week for 10 weeks (so that equals 20 hours a semester). Well, I volunteer at church for 15+ hours one weekend a month! So that's 60 hours a semester! Way above the 20 hour requirement! However, in past years the field education director wouldn't accept that because it wasn't every week. At the beginning of the week I emailed the new field ed director and asked him about it, and he said "sure, let's go with that." So yay!! I'm happy :D

I saw this picture on Epbot the other day, and I absolutely love it. This woman is the epitome of a true woman.

She's got huge guns and a flawless manicure, working power tools and rocking the bling. I want to be her.

Last time I said I would tell you what the surprise was! Chris made a picnic for me, and we went to the park (the nice one) to enjoy it. It was such a nice evening, absolutely perfect weather. It was so cute of him! He loved my reaction and said he will be trying to surprise me more often. Apparently he likes that I get all whiny and impatient :P And I'll just say this, I'm sooo happy that my man likes to cook because I don't.

I wanna hold your hand.

Hey kids! I'm currently at the mall waiting for my friend to show up. How am I writing this to you? On my new iPhone! (please forgive any spelling errors - I don't always catch them) I am not cool enough for the iPhone 4. I purposely waited for that one to come out, so I could get the 3GS for cheaper!! Yes, I do have a Mennonite last name :D I'm having fun with it so far.

I promise to do a mail post soon! I haven't had too much time for mail this week. Over the long weekend I went to the lake with a few of my good friends. It was so much fun! I was so happy to just get away for a few days.

Tomorrow Chris is taking me on a date and it's a surprise. I'm super excited! I love surprises and no one ever surprises me! So I'll tell you about it on Monday (and hopefully have some mail for you then too)
