Getting closer and closer.

In 5 days I will be a married woman! I am not even sure how to process that! It doesn't feel real at all, yet it feels like the most natural thing in the world. I've only had a few moments of nervousness, but really I just want life to settle down so that I can just get back to my normal routine. I miss blogging, writing letters, going for walks, having an organized space around me for that matter. I moved into our house yesterday, and Chris moved back to his parents for this last week. I wanted to be able to get settled in the house before I had to adjust to living with him as well. This place feels like home to me already, so it doesn't feel weird yet.

I feel weird that things don't feel weird.

I won't be posting again until after the wedding, most likely, so I'll see you all later as Mrs Barkman!

Hair inspiration

My wedding is coming up in 2.5 weeks!!! I can hardly believe it!! So soon! Does this last stretch just fly by? Please tell me it does.

This evening I have been looking for hairstyles I like for the day. Now I just need to find some kind of hairpiece.

Flowers to brighten up my frozen existence

In the midst of this crazy whirlwind that I call my life, I have actually managed to plan my wedding pretty thoroughly so far! Most of the important things are booked, and everything is coming together. I'm excited to see it all put together!

This week I went to the florist with my mom to have a consultation and book the flowers. We went to the florist who did my sister's wedding, and Chris sometimes goes there to buy me flowers too. She's amazing and I know that I will be thrilled with the outcome. My bouquet is going to be really vibrant, which I wanted as a contrast to my white dress. I chose 3 main flowers, and put pictures below for you just so you have a visual ;)









I was wondering what the significance of these flowers are, and if they were fitting for a wedding boquet. I knew that yellow roses signified friendship, which fits because Chris is my best friend. I looked up white lilies (which are my favorite) and they signify purity. Now, I'm going with coral gerberas, which are somewhere between red and pink. Red gerberas mean love, passion, and desire, and pink gerberas again mean friendship. So without even knowing I picked good :) I also realized later that every bouquet Chris has ever given me has had lilies, gerberas, or roses. So that has even more significance :)
